Low Tech/No Tech No Problem

Div 3 Families and Students,

Here are the Low Tech/No Tech learning suggestions for the rest of this week.

Reading (30 minutes/day)
-eBooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, Pokémon cards, magazines – whatever keeps you reading!
- Run out of books? You can still get audiobooks and eBooks through the Vancouver Island Regional Library.
- Don’t have a library card? You can now register for one online here: https://virl.bc.ca/get-help/get-a-card/

Writing (15 minutes/day)
- Keep a journal of your daily activities.
- Staying connected is important. Write a letter/email to a friend or family member.

Math (15 minutes/day)
- Use a deck of cards (or some dice) to practice basic facts.

Suggested Games:

Multiplication (or Addition) War:
- Split the deck
- Each player draws a card
- The first player to say the correct product (or sum) of the two cards wins
Alternative: Have each player draw two cards from their own pile and find the sum or product. The player with the greatest answer wins the cards.

Triple Digit Dare
- Deal each player 3 cards
- Each player uses their cards to make a number with the greatest value
- Each player reads their number and the player with the number of greatest value wins
Alternative: Players try and make a number with the least value OR deal each player more cards to work with larger numbers
